2016 Acura RLX gets chassis tweaks adds new safety/driver assists

Back to News & Events

Boasting more refinement and value, the standard 2016 Acura RLX lineup is arriving in dealers with the RLX Sport Hybrid due later this spring. All 2016 versions of Acura's flagship sedan - which now include RLX with Navigation, RLX with Technology Package and RLX with Advance Package - have retuned suspensions that deliver a smoother, quieter and more comfortable ride. Like its siblings, the Navi-spec RLX now wears 19-inch alloy wheels with a new bright finish.

AcuraWatch adds new safety systems

While basic mechanicals carry over, the 2016 RLX family also offers an expanded range of safety features and driver assists collectively offered under the newly-minted AcuraWatch name that fuses the functionality of a camera with radar. Standard on the upgraded Technology and Advance Packages, it's also available for 2016 as a $1,500 option on the RLX with Navigation. AcuraWatch bolsters the RLX's Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Agile Handling Assist and rearview camera with new Road Departure Mitigation and Cross-Traffic Monitor features while adding Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow on the Technology Package. Another new feature on the Advance Package is Acura's first U.S. use of a Surround View Camera.

Although the base RLX has been dropped for 2016, the remaining members of the 2016 Acura RLX lineup carry forward with no change in price despite their upgraded features. The RLX with Navigation rolls on at $51,870 while the RLX with Technology Package opens at $55,370 and the RLX with Advance Package starts at $61,370.
